Chris is a writer and consultant with 40 years’ experience in the third and public sectors. Most recently, Chris was Chief Executive of the Scottish Commission for Learning Disability. Prior to that he spent more than a decade in social research including seven years at the National Centre for Social Research as Deputy Director of Qualitative Research and Director of Corporate Affairs.
Chris has extensive non-executive experience. He is member of the Executive Advisory Body at Social Security Scotland. He has also chaired the boards of two Scottish charities, Scottish Adoption, and the Scottish Association for Mental Health, and of Tower Hamlets Homes in the London borough where he served as an elected councillor. He is a respected commentator on equality and social justice, a contributor to printed and broadcast media, a regular blogger, and a columnist at Holyrood Magazine.
