Head of research
In February 2020, Fiona joined the Diffley Partnership as Head of Research. Her wide-ranging experience managing research and innovation projects was developed through a career with non-departmental public bodies and research institutes, supporting the work of SMEs and charities. Most recently, as Research Manager for Historic Environment Scotland, she led consultations on their Equality Outcomes and industry impacts resulting from Covid-19.
Fiona has a gained a reputation within the culture and tourism sectors for her skills in social research, evaluation and service design. In 2014, she was awarded her PhD in Management by the University of Exeter. Throughout all her studies and employment, she has relished designing applied research, ensuring robust qualitative and quantitative analysis, and sharing insights with partners.
To complement her role with the Diffley Partnership, Fiona keeps her finger on the pulse with policy and societal developments in Scotland and beyond. Since 2018 she has volunteered as trustee for the social innovation charity, People Know How. She is part of the Social Research Association’s editorial board and was selected to join Young Academy of Scotland’s 2020 cohort.
