New Report: Understanding Scotland - Society

We’re delighted to announce the publication of Understanding Scotland’s inaugural report on Scottish society.  This first report lays the groundwork for understanding Scottish society as we emerge from the pandemic, and addresses the following key questions: Is Scotland on the right track? Where do we want to go as a country? And who do we trust to help us get there?

We find that poverty and inequality is the top concern for Scots, with an evident appetite for a fair recovery. We also find low levels of trust in key institutions and in the political system, and division over Scotland’s direction of travel. Click the icon to read the report for the full details.

This is the first in a series of reports aimed at truly understanding Scotland, what it thinks, and where it’s going. Over the coming weeks, we will be publishing a number of reports tackling key questions relating to the economy and the environment in Scotland.
